SEBI has extended the deadline for completing the Accessibility Audit of digital platforms and remediation of audit findings under its Digital Accessibility framework.
What’s changed?
New deadline: 31 October 2026
The extension applies only to:
Conducting the accessibility audit, and
Remediating findings from the audit.
All other requirements under SEBI’s Digital Accessibility Circulars continue to remain applicable without any change.
Who does this impact?
All SEBI-regulated entities, including:
Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs)
Portfolio Managers
Investment Advisers
Mutual Funds
Stock Brokers
Depositories
Other SEBI intermediaries
What should AIFs do now?
Rather than treating this as a postponement, use the additional time to:
Conduct a comprehensive accessibility audit.
Fix WCAG compliance issues across investor-facing portals.
Validate documents, forms, and workflows for accessibility.
Prepare evidence for regulatory review.
Accessibility compliance is becoming a core governance expectation—not just a technology exercise.
