The International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) has issued a circular dated August 26, 2026, prescribing requirements for Fund Management Entities (FMEs) operating in the International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) to maintain an official website or dedicated webpage.
The requirement has been introduced with the objective of promoting transparency, facilitating access to relevant information and enhancing investor awareness regarding FMEs and their activities in the IFSC.
Applicability
Under the circular:
Authorised FMEs and Registered FMEs (Non-Retail) may maintain either an independent official website or a dedicated webpage hosted on the website of their parent, holding or group entity.
Registered FMEs (Retail) are required to maintain an independent official website dedicated to their fund management activities in the IFSC.
The website or webpage must be publicly accessible, clearly identify the FME by its registered name and IFSCA registration number, and distinctly present its IFSC activities.
Key Disclosures
The website/webpage is required to prominently disclose, among other matters:
Profile, category of registration and IFSCA registration number of the FME;
Registered and correspondence addresses and contact details;
Details of schemes or funds managed from the IFSC;
Details of the Custodian, Trustee, Fund Administrator and Statutory Auditor, wherever applicable;
Investor grievance redressal mechanism, Grievance Redressal Officer, escalation matrix and complaint status;
Principal Officer, Compliance Officer and other key managerial personnel responsible for IFSC operations;
Applicable statutory, regulatory and other disclosures; and
Details of material regulatory or enforcement action taken against the FME or its key managerial personnel during the preceding three years.
The website must also carry an appropriate disclaimer clarifying that registration with IFSCA does not constitute approval or endorsement of the FME, its schemes, financial soundness or performance.
Additional Requirements for Retail FMEs
Registered FMEs managing Retail Schemes will be subject to additional disclosure requirements, including Scheme Information Documents, Key Information Documents, periodic portfolio and performance disclosures, benchmark comparisons, NAV, expense-related information, valuation policies, unclaimed redemption amounts, investor education material and the Investor Charter.
Accessibility and Record-Keeping
The prescribed information must be available in English, carry the relevant update date, specify the applicable currency and time zone where relevant, and be made available in downloadable and, where feasible, machine-readable formats for NAV, portfolio and expense-related disclosures.
Such information is required to remain accessible for at least three years from the date of display, including after winding-up of the scheme.
Compliance Timeline
Existing FMEs are required to intimate the URL of their website or webpage to IFSCA at fme-reporting@ifsca.gov.in on or before December 1, 2026. Any subsequent change in the URL is required to be reported through subsequent quarterly filings.
FMEs registered on or after the circular comes into force must comply with these requirements before commencing fund management activities in the IFSC and intimate the website/webpage URL within 30 days of registration.
